Dr. Eric F. Steen, DPM, FACFAS 

Dr. Steen enlisted in the US Army in 1987. His first assignment was with the 1st Battalion 22nd Infantry, 10th Mountain Division, Ft. Drum, NY where he served as a field medical specialist. He later trained as a practical nurse and was assigned to Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Korea, and Ft. Bragg, NC. In 1997, he transferred to the Army Reserves, leaving Active Duty to complete his education.  He received his BS degree in Microbiology Cum Laude from Methodist University in Fayetteville NC. He earned his medical degree from the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University, in Des Moines IA.  After earning his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine in 2003, he returned to Active Duty and returned to Womack Army Medical Center at Ft. Bragg, NC for Residency training. After completing his training program in 2006 he continued his service as a Podiatric Surgeon at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany. Major Steen retired from the Army June 2013. He broadened his experience with additional Post Graduate Fellowship training from Family Foot and Ankle Specialists in Greenville, TX.  

Dr. Steen is Board Certified in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery as well as Foot Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He has special interests in lower extremity biomechanics, surgical and medical treatment of Pediatric and Adult Ankle and Foot disorders, ankle arthroscopy, sports injuries, diabetic foot conditions, flat foot reconstruction, and fractures. 

In his free time, Dr. Steen enjoys all of the wonderful outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer.
